Marie Antoinette ~ French Baroque
This wedding theme captures the beauty and indeed the drama of the French Baroque era. When planning your dream day think opulence, look for luxury , with all things decadent and ornate. The romantic vintage feel of this era with all is over-the-top use of luxury touches, the bold rich mix of colours and textures and the echoes of fun and frivolity of this period from who else but the French.
Kirsten Dunst ( below) starred as Marie Antoinette, in film whose costume designer used all the essence of this time, paying attention to the mix of colours - moody pale blues and raspberry, soft peachy pinks and rich muted teals. With off whites, soft blues and greys, sage greens, creams and pinks as accents and touches of metallic gold and silver she showed all the opulence and drama. Drawing inspiration from this film, I have put together a selection of pictures to inspire you.
Theme Ideas : Dramatic lighting - candelabras, chandeliers and masses of candles. Guilded gold chivari chairs, tapestries, beautiful fans ( as pictured below), tassels in all colors, ornately framed mirrors. hink monogrammed linen and napkins on the tables, as well as birdcages, peacock and ostrich feathers feathers, sparkling glassware, shiney table covers and all things extravagant.
The gorgeous invitations below are available from Etsy. As is the fantastic silohette cake topers too. Who doesn't love Etsy.

I am so in love with this themed photo shoot I could not wait to share it with you all... enjoy the talented Darren of CK Metro Photography, his work is inspiring.
The secret of any good photo shoot is to tell a story. Toowoomba based photographer Darren of CK Metro Photos does this with simple briliance. Capturing the shadows, sunlight and hues of the day have added to the story of this couple. The story is set by their wonderful vintage clothing and her KILLER shoes! (Who wouldnt love these shoes!)
Transition Station:
I love the way the story has moved to them into a new scene.
You see glimpses of who they are, by the normality of everyday things, such the groom to be is holding the gorgeous hat box. Ever the gentleman.
Darren was approached by Samara and Nick to do this modern, vintage shoot. He spent time discussing with them what props to bring, clothes to wear, and was lucky enough to get the use of a railway carriage, and there evolved this wonderful photoshoot. I love the change of clothes, as it really compliments the change of scene, the style and the pace of the whole shoot ( I want the dress and the shoes!)
